Relationship between vasculogenic mimicry and clinic pathological features in laryngeal carcinoma

摘要: 目的: 探讨喉鳞状细胞癌(LSCC)组织中内皮依赖性血管和血管生成拟态(VM)的存在及其与临床病理学特征之间的关系。方法: 采用组织芯片技术,进行苏木精-伊红染色、CD34免疫组织化学染色以及CD34/过碘酸雪夫双重染色技术检测138例喉癌组织中内皮依赖性血管和VM的表达。分析喉癌组织中内皮依赖性血管、VM与临床病理学特征之间的关系。结果: LSCC中存在VM的比例为26.23%(32/122),肿瘤微血管密度(MVD)平均值为12.61个/高倍视野。不同年龄、性别、临床分型、临床分期、病理分级、T分期及N分期,VM的阳性表达以及肿瘤MVD的表达差异均无统计学意义(P>0.05),但 ≥ 60岁年龄组VM和MVD均略高于<60岁组,低分化组VM和MVD略高于高分化+中分化组,N1~3组VM和MVD高于N0组。喉癌组织中VM的表达与MVD存在正相关关系(r=0.1927,P<0.05)。表明年龄越大、组织分化越差、分期越高,组织中VM及内皮依赖性血管的表达呈现升高的趋势。结论: VM是喉癌中存在的一种血液供应模式,VM的存在可能与喉癌的复发和转移有关。Abstract: Objective: To investigate the presence of vasculogenic mimicry in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma and explore its clinical significance.Method: The presence of vasculogenic mimicry and expression of endothelium-dependent vessel in 138 laryngeal squamous cell carcinomas cases were detected by the immunohistochemistry and tissue microarray. Metlab software was used to evaluate the relationship among vasculogenic mimicry, microvessel density and clinic pathological parameters in laryngeal carcinoma.Result: We found vasculogenic mimicry in 32(26.23%) of 122 laryngeal carcinoma samples. The mean of microvessel density is 12.61 per high-power field. The vasculogenic mimicry and expression of endothelium-dependent vessel were not significantly related to patient age or gender, tumor location, pathology grade, T stage or N stage (P>0.05). However, the vasculogenic mimicry and the mean of microvessel density were a little higher in patients older than 60, with poorly differentiated and patients with N1-3 stage. Vasculogenic mimicry was positively correlatedwith microvessel density (r=0.192 7,P<0.05).Conclusion: Vasculogenic mimicry can occur in laryngeal carcinoma. Moreover, vasculogenic mimicry may be associated with recurrence and metastasis in laryngeal carcinoma.
