Abstract: A 58-year-old woman was in hospital for a right preauricular painless mass persistent for six months. Physical examination showed a right preauricular mass with a size about 3 cm×3 cm which was smooth, tensive, immobile and painless. There was no facial paralysis. Parotid ultrasonography revealed a hypoechoic mass within the right parotid gland with a possible diagnose of parotid mixed tumor.In July 2011, the patient received superficial parotidectomy with preservation of the facial nerve. Pathology confirmed as right parotid metastatic clear cell carcinoma. Relevant medical history of this patient included a right radical nephrectomy for renal clear cell carcinoma (level Ⅲ) in 2004 and a resection of thyroid metastatic renal cell carcinoma in 2009.
